Summary: After being unsuccessful as a school safety presenter, Officer Buckle is a hit once police dog, Gloria, joins him. When Officer Buckle realizes the audience is not enjoying him but Gloria’s imitations of him, he is hurt and refuses to go to schools. Gloria goes alone, but is sad and then there is a terrible accident at that school. Officer Buckle realizes his value and begins presenting with Gloria again, while adding a new safety tip to his repertoire, “Always stick with your buddy.”
Hanna’s Comments: This wonderful book offers hilarious lessons on pride vs. humility, strengths vs. weaknesses, and solo acts vs. partnerships.
